Our Process
Basement projects range from simple to complex. Some jobs are just framing and drywall. Others include electrical, plumbing, flooring, and full buildouts. Whatever the scope, we approach each phase in the right order so the finished space comes together clean.
Planning & Permits
Every basement finish starts with a plan. We walk the space, talk through how you want to use it, and figure out where walls, doors, and electrical need to go. We look at existing conditions—ceiling height, mechanicals, moisture history, egress requirements—and make sure the design works with what's there. If permits are required, we handle that before any work starts.
Framing & Rough-In
Once the plan is set, framing goes up. Walls get built to create the rooms, closets, and layout we designed. Then electrical, plumbing, and HVAC rough-in happens—outlets, switches, lighting locations, bathroom drains, supply lines, duct runs. Everything gets inspected before we close up the walls. This is the phase where the space starts to take shape.
Insulation & Drywall
With rough-in approved, insulation goes in for comfort and energy efficiency. Then drywall gets hung, taped, and finished. We match the finish level to your paint and lighting—smooth enough that nothing shows through. At this point, your basement looks like actual rooms instead of a construction site.
Trade Finishes & Installs
This is where it all comes together. Walls and ceilings get primed and painted. Flooring goes down—LVP, carpet, tile, whatever the design calls for. Trim gets installed. Doors get hung. Plumbing fixtures go in. HVAC registers and covers get set. Electrical fixtures, outlets, switches, and cover plates get finished out. Tile work in bathrooms or wet bars gets completed and grouted.
Final Walkthrough & Completion
Once finish work is done, we schedule final inspections—electrical, plumbing, building—whatever the permit requires. After everything passes, we do a walkthrough with you to catch any punch list items. Touch-ups get handled, any adjustments get made, and we clean up completely. You get a finished basement, signed off and ready to use.
