Layout and Board Selection

Do I need fire-rated drywall in my garage?
Yes. Ohio building code requires fire-rated 5/8" Type X drywall on any wall or ceiling separating a garage from living space. This includes the wall between the garage and the house and any ceiling below a room above the garage. Many homes in Columbus were built with the correct board but only fire taped at construction and never properly finished. How do you handle dust and cleanup during drywall installation?

Can you match new drywall to my existing walls?
Yes. When new board meets existing walls, the transition has to be flat and invisible after finishing. We match board thickness, align the surface plane, and feather the joint so there is no ridge or step between old and new. Texture matching is handled during the drywall finishing phase where we blend texture to match surrounding surfaces. Once the walls are professionally painted by our interior painting crew, you should not be able to tell where the new board starts and the old board ends.
Do you offer a warranty on drywall installation?
Every project comes with a 2-year workmanship warranty. If a joint cracks, a fastener pops, or a seam shows through paint because of something we did, we come back and fix it. Normal house settling and movement are not covered because those are caused by the structure, not the installation.
