Full-Service Interior Painting for Columbus Homes
We paint home interiors across Columbus and Central Ohio. Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and every surface inside your home. But paint is only as good as what’s underneath it. We patch drywall, fix cracks, caulk gaps, and prime stains before we even open a can of paint. As a licensed general contractor, we catch and repair damage other painters skip or can’t handle. The result is a finish that looks clean on day one and still holds up years later.
Licensed & Fully Insured
Ohio general contractor license. BBB A+ rated. General liability and workers comp on every project. Your home is protected.
One Contractor, Every Trade
Most painters call a drywall guy. Most drywall guys call a framer. We handle drywall repair, texture matching, trim work, and painting under one roof. Your project stays with one crew from prep to final walkthrough. No juggling subcontractors. No finger-pointing between trades.
Surfaces & Finishes
Walls & Ceilings
Flat or matte on ceilings to hide imperfections. Eggshell or satin on walls for durability and easy cleaning. Every wall gets the sheen that fits how the room gets used.
Trim, Baseboards & Crown Molding
Semi-gloss or high-gloss — cleans easy, holds up to scuffs, and gives crisp contrast against walls. Need new trim installed? We handle finish carpentry too.
Interior Doors
Hollow-core, solid wood, or panel. We prep, prime, and finish to match your trim or create contrast. No drips, no brush marks. See our trim, doors & cabinets page.
Bathrooms & Wet Areas
Moisture changes everything. Bathrooms, laundry rooms, and utility areas need mildew-resistant paint in the right sheen to hold up to steam and humidity. We use satin or semi-gloss finishes rated for wet environments. Planning a full update? See our bathroom remodeling services.
Accent Walls & Feature Areas
Bold colors and dark tones need extra prep to cover evenly. We help you pick the right wall based on natural light and sight lines, then execute with clean edges.
Typical Interior Projects
Move-In Repaints
Make your new place feel like yours before you unpack. Full interior repaints on tight timelines — walls, ceilings, trim, doors.
Pre-Sale & Staging Prep
Neutral colors, clean walls, and fresh trim help homes show better and sell faster. Fast turnaround so you don't lose listing days.
Color Changes
Dark to light or light to dark takes more than an extra coat. We prime to block bleed-through and build coverage so the new color reads true.
Single Room Refreshes
One bedroom, one bathroom, one hallway. Same prep process we use on full repaints. No shortcuts because the scope is smaller.
Damage Repair & Repaint
Water stains, cracked drywall, peeling paint, failed texture. We fix the damage first, then paint over a solid surface.
Our Interior Painting Process
Every interior project follows the same proven workflow. Clear communication, thorough prep, professional application, and a final walkthrough before we leave. No surprises, no callbacks, no touch-ups needed six months later.

Inspection & Estimate
We walk through your home and note every surface that needs attention — wall condition, ceiling stains, trim damage, texture issues, and existing paint failures. You get a detailed written estimate within 48 hours that breaks down prep work, repairs, and paint. No hidden fees, no deposit required.

Prep Work
Good prep means good results. We fill nail holes, patch drywall damage, sand rough spots, caulk gaps between trim and walls, and prime stains. Furniture gets moved and covered. Floors get protected with drop cloths. If there's damage behind the surface, we find it and fix it. It's the work you don't see that makes the finished product last.

Paint Application
We cut clean lines by brush and roll smooth, even coats. Back-rolling for proper coverage, multiple coats where needed, and the right sheen for each surface. We use premium products from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams — selecting the right line for each surface and application. Every product we use is rated for durability and washability.

Final Walkthrough
We walk the completed project with you before cleanup. Touch-ups handled on the spot. Drop cloths removed, furniture returned, and your home ready to enjoy. You don't pay until you're satisfied.

Interior Painting Questions
What is the most popular interior paint color in 2026?
The two biggest names in paint release a Color of the Year every fall, and for 2026 both went warm and grounded. Benjamin Moore chose Silhouette AF-655 — a rich espresso brown with charcoal undertones. Sherwin-Williams went with Universal Khaki SW 6150 — a midtone tan that feels earthy without being heavy. Both signal a shift away from cool grays and toward warm neutrals that make a room feel layered and lived-in.
If you're not sure where to start with color, we can help narrow it down based on your space and lighting. Take a look at our color change painting service for how we approach full-room and whole-house repaints.
Does interior painting increase home value?
Yes — and it's one of the best returns on investment you can make. According to HomeLight's Top Agent Insights Survey and data from Angi, interior painting delivers an average ROI of 107% and can increase a home's value by up to 5%. On a $400,000 home, that's a potential $20,000 increase from a project that costs a fraction of a kitchen or bathroom remodel.
The key is neutral colors, proper prep, and a professional finish that photographs well and holds up during showings. We handle all of that — from drywall repairs to final coat. See our full interior painting services for what's included.
Does repainting a home help it sell faster?
It does. The National Association of Realtors reports that 94% of real estate agents recommend painting before listing, and homes with fresh neutral interiors consistently sell faster and closer to asking price. Buyers walk in, see clean walls with no scuffs or outdated colors, and mentally check "move-in ready" — which is exactly what drives offers.
A pre-sale repaint doesn't have to be the whole house. Focus on the rooms buyers spend the most time in — living areas, kitchens, and primary bedrooms. We can walk through your home and tell you exactly which rooms will make the biggest impact. Call 614-582-4227 or view our residential painting services to get started.
What do I need to do before painters come to my house?
Not much. We normally ask that you move valuable / fragile items, and anything sentimental into rooms we won't be working in. Everything else — furniture, wall hangings, switch plates — we take care of. We move furniture to the center of each room, cover it with clean plastic sheeting, and protect floors with drop cloths.
At the end of each day, everything goes back so you can use your home normally. We handle the prep, protection, and cleanup — just secure your personal items and we'll handle the rest.
What questions should I ask a painting contractor before hiring them?
Not all estimates are created equal. Some contractors start low and then add to the price once the project begins — "that trim wasn't included," "primer is extra," "we found a problem." Ask whether the price is all-inclusive through drywall punchout and final coat. Ask what paint products they're using, how many coats are included, and what happens if another coat is needed. Ask if they carry insurance and a contractor's license.
We try to provide a final total cost upfront so there are no surprises at the end. Our estimates break down labor, materials, prep and repairs, and coat count — and we don't require a deposit to start. If something changes during the project, we talk to you first. Call 614-582-4227 or request a free estimate above.
What's the difference between eggshell, satin, and semi-gloss paint?
It comes down to durability, sheen level, and where you're using it. Flat and matte finishes hide imperfections and work best on ceilings and low-traffic areas. Eggshell has a slight sheen, cleans easier than flat, and is the most popular choice for living rooms, bedrooms, and hallways. Satin holds up better to moisture and scrubbing — we use it in kitchens, bathrooms, and kids' rooms. Semi-gloss is the most durable and easiest to clean, which is why it goes on trim, baseboards, and doors.
The tradeoff is that higher sheen shows more wall imperfections — every bump, patch, and roller mark is visible. That's why proper prep and repairs matter more as the sheen goes up. We match the finish to how each room gets used and the condition of the drywall underneath it.
Is Sherwin-Williams better than Benjamin Moore for interiors?
We've found that we favor Benjamin Moore overall, but each product line is different — and neither brand wins across the board. Some Sherwin-Williams products outperform in specific applications, and vice versa. What matters more than the label on the can is choosing the right product for the surface, the sheen, and the room's traffic level.
Here's something most people don't realize: every paint supplier can match the other's colors. You can take a Benjamin Moore color code to a Sherwin-Williams store and get it mixed. That said, we've found that local independent stores like Creative Paints can match other companies' products better than those companies can match their own. If you're not sure which product fits your project, we'll make the recommendation — see our full interior painting services or call 614-582-4227.
Can painters work while I'm living in the house with kids and pets?
Yes — most of our interior projects happen in occupied homes. We work room by room, seal off the work area, and use low-VOC products that minimize fumes. Furniture gets moved or covered, floors get protected, and we clean up at the end of every day so your house stays livable. Kids and pets just need to stay out of the active work zone while paint is wet.
If the project involves drywall repairs or sanding, we contain the dust with plastic and run air filtration. Bigger remodels — like a kitchen remodel that includes painting — may require a different phasing plan, which we'll walk through before the project starts.
