Our Process
Tile installation is only as good as what’s underneath it. A floor installed over an uneven or unstable subfloor won’t stay flat, and grout lines will crack. We take the time to prep the substrate so the finished floor performs the way it should. Here’s how we approach it.
Subfloor Prep
We check the subfloor for level, deflection, and moisture. High spots get ground down, low spots get filled with self-leveler or patch. If there's too much flex, we add cement board or address the framing. Old adhesive, paint, or sealers that could affect bond get removed. The subfloor needs to be clean, flat, and solid before any tile goes down.
Layout & Dry Fit
We plan the layout before any thinset gets mixed. That means figuring out where the tile starts, where cuts land, and how the pattern flows through doorways. We dry fit to check spacing and make adjustments so you don't end up with slivers at walls or awkward cuts in high-visibility areas.
Set & Grout
Tile gets set in thinset with proper coverage and consistent spacing. We use leveling systems on large-format tile to keep lippage flat. Once the thinset cures, grout goes in — packed tight, cleaned off, and sealed if needed. Final walkthrough with you before we leave.
